My Grading System
A+ = Masterpiece (I hold back on this one.) / A = Great. / A- = Really Good. / B+ = Good. / B = Decent (Serviceable). / B- = Flawed but okay (For those times there's something redeeming about the work). / C+ = Not very good (Skip it). C = Bad. / C- = Awful. / F = Complete Disaster (I hold back on this one too).
Note on Spoilers: I will try to avoid ruining a story by going into too much detail. But if I wish to include some revealing points to my analysis I will try to remember to add a separate spoiler paragraph.

50/50 (2011)
Adam (Joseph Gordon-Levitt), a health-conscious 27 year old, discovers he has a rare form of spine cancer. He faces it head on with help from his Painter girl friend (Bryce Dallas Howard), his best friend (Seth Rogen), this mother (Angelica Huston) and a hospital therapist (Anne Kendrick). Cancer is not funny but this film approaches the topic with a truth and tenderness that allows for comedy to play out without being obvious or offensive. The makers of this film based this story on a real life situation and you can sense that's why it's so genuine. This is a wonderful film that I think will continue to find an audience years from now. Grade: A-.
