My Grading System

A+ = Masterpiece (I hold back on this one.) / A = Great. / A- = Really Good. / B+ = Good. / B = Decent (Serviceable). / B- = Flawed but okay (For those times there's something redeeming about the work). / C+ = Not very good (Skip it). C = Bad. / C- = Awful. / F = Complete Disaster (I hold back on this one too).

Note on Spoilers: I will try to avoid ruining a story by going into too much detail. But if I wish to include some revealing points to my analysis I will try to remember to add a separate spoiler paragraph.

Jiro Dreams of Sushi (2011)

Even if you don't like Sushi, you'll probably wish you could try the kind handcrafted by master sushi chef Jiro Ono.  This documentary is a wonderful celebration of one man's quest for greatness as well as an insightful look at the art of "real" sushi, not the fast-food variety sold in supermarkets around the world.  It's also examines the future of sushi through the eyes of Jiro Ono's two older sons as they venture into a world of tough competition and over fishing.  A must-see for food lovers and anyone interested in Japanese customs and a high recommendation for those casual viewers who like entertaining, well-made documentaries.  Grade: A-
