If you loved the film the Manchurian Candidate, here’s a
modern take on the story except instead of communists it’s Islamic extremists
and terrorism. Claire Danes is absolutely wonderful as a CIA operative dealing
with Bipolarism. Damian Lewis is the POW American Hero returned home, secretly
planning a strike against the United States . . . or is he? Maybe he’s just
misunderstood. What I love about this show is how intense it becomes. There are
episodes where it’s impossible to keep still as the anticipation grows. While the plot is a tad bit unbelievable (just a tad) it's still one of the most thrilling first seasons of a show I've seen in a long time. I can't wait to see the next season. Grade: A-
My Grading System
A+ = Masterpiece (I hold back on this one.) / A = Great. / A- = Really Good. / B+ = Good. / B = Decent (Serviceable). / B- = Flawed but okay (For those times there's something redeeming about the work). / C+ = Not very good (Skip it). C = Bad. / C- = Awful. / F = Complete Disaster (I hold back on this one too).
Note on Spoilers: I will try to avoid ruining a story by going into too much detail. But if I wish to include some revealing points to my analysis I will try to remember to add a separate spoiler paragraph.
